It’s so sad that they’re not allowed to refer to it as Penis Valley any more… damn tourist boards…

The burners are indeed very noisy, but it was incredibly tranquil once we got up there — it’s not like he kept it burning for very long. The rate of ascent is pretty awesome too!

I think hot air balloon rides are pretty limited to specific locations — I’d love to go on one in Iceland or something, for example… but the weather has to be just right. California might be quite cool, if you go north or so!

Hot air balloons and penises and caves, OH MY!
What fun.

I’ve done the Hot Air Balloon Ride out here in Cali. What a trip. Not nearly as romantic as it first seems, though. You don’t realize how loud that fire is until you’re up in the air. Tranquil at first, yes.
Still worth the trip, I’d say.

One day I’ll conquer this part of the world. Giant Penis and caves are just too alluring to stay away.

You should’ve seen some of the caves in the ancient city that I visited — the one with churches and stuff. There were staircases and secret passageways that stretched for up to a mile in some cases.

I’ll try to get around to writing about the second half of my stay in Cappadocia ASAP!

I never heard of it ever happened here. Tough since it’s a lot of islands over here and forests..
The closest is Australia.

Can you go on hot air balloon flights in Indonesia? I imagine the conditions there might make it quite hard…

I know you can only do it in certain parts of certain countries.

Ooh! I’ve never actually seen a Hoodoo before… that’s pretty neat. I imagine it’s the same kind of process — hard on top of soft, and different erosion speeds.

I think I prefer my penises though…

What gorgeous geography! They look like hoodoos. My friend ruined the hoodoos for me, saying they looked like penises. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Hoodoos_Drumheller.jpg)
I am jealous you got to stay in a cave. That looks so neat!
