Skywatch Friday: Sussex Sunset
We rarely get sunsets worth mentioning in Sussex — our atmospheric conditions are mediocre at best. However, with a little bit of fun (HDR), I created a landscape that has an awful lot to look at — the tree in the foreground, the line of trees in the background, the details of the grass. And of course, quite a spectacular sunset!
This is a post for Skywatch Friday.

It’s very beautiful. I’m glad you can create beauty when you don’t have it to look at all the time. (At least this kind of beauty; you probably have other kinds there.)

February 27th, 2009 at 2:46 pmThe thing I love about English sunsets (well, perhaps others too, but I’m not so accustomed to them!) is that they only look like this for about 30 seconds — you get the briefest splash of pinks just for a few moments, and then the sun dips below the horizon… gone for ever! February 27th, 2009 at 3:17 pmWell, it was HDR, but that is how the sky looked to, to the human eye! I don’t use HDR to create false colouring, more just… to pick up everything that the naked eye can see. Cameras are still a little backwards when you’re dealing with extreme light and dark
