Welcome! This is my first addition to the ‘Watery Wednesday’ photo assignment.
Everyone seems to do sea-side photos, so I thought I’d break out of the mould and show you a fun photo of mine!
I was experimenting with incredibly fast shutter speeds, on a very rainy day, in good light. Such a combination let me capture the rain in such a way that it almost looks like snow! I took a few other photos of the same kind, but this one is by far the best! It was taken in my garden, in Sussex, South England.
Enjoy, and come back next Wednesday… or check out some of my other photo collections, if you like this one.
You can find more watery, and alliteration-friendly photos over at Watery Wednesday.

You did it well, so cool and the rain drops are visible. Nice WW entry.

The best bit is that I was standing in the rain when I took the photo…
Looking at the photo I’m instantly taken back; it was heavy rain. Like a deluge!
And in July, of all seasons…

Reading your last reply, you can’t tell that it was a deluge. What a great capture! It does look like softly falling snow.

Hehe, well you’ll have to take my word for it that it was raining REALLY hard.
I think the fact that you can see so many single drops in the frame kind of prove it — but I should take some photos of some ‘light’ rain, and compare!

Nicely captured! Do you happen to remember (or have the EXIF data for) the shutter speed you used?

It’s 1/4000, f1.8, using ISO 1600.
As fast as I could go, basically
If I did it again today I would do it slightly different… but I was young and inexperienced when I took that photo!

Well I kind of worked backwards — I was going through some old photos, found some nice ones of water… and thought Watery Wednesday would appreciate them!
The feed you use doesn’t have these submissions in — if you use the mrseb-more-photos feed (check the feed list on the side somewhere), you’ll get these photos too!
(I just write a lot, and I don’t want people to feel spammed, and have to wade through page after page of my incessant drivel!)
