This entry was almost a deep-and-meaningful — I woke up with a start this morning with a deep, poignant phrase repeating itself over and over in my head — but after some reflection, I think I’ll wait for Monday. I need a little more time to turn it over; to taste it. Now if only I could remember the dream that obviously shook me enough to wake me up! Maybe this is what they call a ‘Eureka!’ moment…
So I’m not quite through with the photos from the G! Festival in the Faroes. Yesterday I started with a handful of great photos and today I’ll finish up with some more!
(The beautiful dawn photo is at the end.)
This is Frændur, some kind of ‘Faroese legend’ as far as music goes. They’re from the 80s and totally Faroese — don’t feel bad for never having heard of them!
Hogni again! Looks better full-size, but I think you can appreciate the feeling. I love the illuminated heads of the audience.
I think you’d have a hard time looking more iconic, more anthemic, more festival than this photo. I guess a candle is the new cigarette lighter. The armband was a beautiful bonus!
Better than my original Atlantic Dawn? I’m not sure. It’s beautiful for the rich fruitiness of the red and the highlighted clouds in the bottom left. Of course, my soft spot for pink might be skewing my opinion of it a little… but it is rather beautiful.

you have skills! I am very jealous (from someone who shakes when taking pictures)

I shake too… but I have a technique! You have to hold your breath — something I learnt from extensive sniper rifle use in the army.
Yeah Abi — that’s why I’ve started hosting the images locally and just linking through to Flickr.
Thanks!

The heads in the black and white shot really make for a nice foreground. Gotta love a well lit bw shot.

Ooooh I like the last picture the most. I figure you gonna sell it in your etsy?

Yeah, you get the overwhelming feeling of AUDIENCE but not ‘people’ per se. I love the audience in that black and white shot
I might do Andhari. I have to pick and choose which landscapes to sell… also, some can’t be enlarged very big because of the ‘noise’. If you want to buy it, I’m sure I can list it!

Hmmm…I imagined bringing a candle to a concert…Not convenient. I think I’ll stick to raising my cellphone. The candle looks cooler, though.

All your photos are gorgeous, you have the eye of a professional. I do like the candle idea!

I think, considering most people live very nearby (or in the town itself!) a candle probably isn’t much trouble. As you can see from the previous photos, it’s a family thing! Kids run around on the beach while the adults mosh to the music. Pretty cool, and weird. But you could just get your son to hold the candle for you…
The eye of a professional… why thank you! (And welcome, Angie :))

I’ve been in a funk lately with my photography, but after finding your site Seb, I’m getting all kinds of inspired. Once I get to NYC it’s back on! I think i’ll be using my tumblr site more as a picture type of blog as well, since wordpress only gives me a certain amount of storage.

Tumblr’s great!
The other alternative is you keep using WordPress and Flickr to host all the images.
Or you self-host something…
I’m glad I could be of service

I think I’ve only ever apologised for being ‘too good’ once before… and it was in bed, and she almost died.
I’m afraid I can’t do that Maddie! Sorry!

…I thought cell phones were the new lighter? Hm. Either way, love that candle photo.
