Saturday is Dollhouse Day! (Formerly: Dushku Day!)
Dollhouse had its season 2 premiere last night in the US. If you didn’t watch it… for shame! It was really quite good. Surprisingly so. I assume it was written by Joss Whedon himself, which would probably explain the pithiness — and the sexuality! He sure seems to like sexiness, eh? Amy Acker and Eliza Dushku were both stunning this week.
I don’t know if Dushku has put on a little weight or something but she looked positively glowing last night. Real, lip-biting, she-is-almost-as-pretty-Cheryl-Cole luminescence.
Anyway, as you know, I try to write as little as possible on the weekends, so I will let a whole bunch of captured stills from the episode do the talking instead. Enjoy!
Dushku Day is back, baby!
Warning: Dushku is seriously hot this week. There’s also some Jamie Bamber of Battlestar Galactica fame for the girls to enjoy. I have to admit, he made me swoon a little.

I was seriously disappointed by the lack of shirtless Jamie Bamber scenes :/ What a tease: P But he was quite awesome as a bad dude though.
September 26th, 2009 at 6:32 pmYeah! I guess Tahmoh’s a bit easier-going on the topless thing… damn Jamie and his Proper Britishness! (Though he does sound quite common/East London… it’s very nice to hear him speaking in his normal accent after 5 years of BSG though!)
September 26th, 2009 at 6:34 pmI unfortunately haven’t seen it yet…curse working on Friday nights! Gonna watch it online now….
I’m so glad it’s back!!!
September 26th, 2009 at 7:26 pmDidn’t watch the first season, so I don’t know if I could jump straight into watching it without torrenting a pack of that first.
September 26th, 2009 at 7:32 pmEliza is looking good though if those pics are anything to go by. Just the kind of incentive I need.
Bamber’s hair zOMG. nice choice of screen caps.
September 26th, 2009 at 8:34 pmThanks
Took a bit of effort to get just the right ones. I did a little touch-up work too, as stills from TV are rarely of great quality (only 25 fps, so movement is always a bit blurred, and contrast is never great).
Watch the first season Ben! It’s only 13 episodes. It’s pretty good
September 26th, 2009 at 8:37 pmBSG alum? maybe I SHOULD check out dollhouse. Also, I hear Summer Glau is joining the cast niiiiiiice!
September 27th, 2009 at 1:54 amYa! The BSG cast are popping up all over the place (Tigh was in Warehouse 13 the other week!) — always great to see one of them pop up. I keep waiting for Chief to turn up…
I was waiting for Glau to turn up this week, but I guess that would’ve been simply too much hotness for one episode.

Thank goodness for that. I am SO sick of too-skinny girls! I’d much rather see luscious curves than pokey bones.
September 27th, 2009 at 5:34 amWell I am pretty sure fat girls won’t be sighing with relief after watching Dollhouse… she’s not THAT big yet. Just a little less gaunt
I think the poky-out-bones thing is long-gone now — at least in popular fashion. The IT girls and various anorexic anomalies mean it’ll always be around… but it seems curves are definitely ‘in’ now.
Phew.
September 27th, 2009 at 1:53 pmI remember back in the ’90s some of my friends were jealous of the scrawny, gangly, wirey, boney, etc., frame (the fact that we were only 12 and analysing this is a whole different topic) and I kept telling them “actually this is kind of gross, if you just look objectively. One of these days, people will come to their senses!”
It’s so GOOD to be right.
September 27th, 2009 at 5:11 pmwell, I guess I’ll have to make due with Dushku for a while. I do enjoy Dollhouse.
Still anxiously awaiting the next big “uniforms in space” series though.
September 28th, 2009 at 2:45 pmI just can’t get on board with liking her. I think she is fugly.
September 28th, 2009 at 4:22 pmWhy… what…
How can you find her fugly? What’s _wrong_ with her?
I mean, she’s not like my FAVOURITE celebrity EVER. But she’s totally cute.
Caprica’s next, Tina. If you’ve not seen the pilot, you should — it’s v. good
September 28th, 2009 at 4:34 pmI don’t own a television so I did not know this but I am heading straight home to watch this episode STAT.
I love Eliza in an unhealthy way.
September 29th, 2009 at 2:00 amI have the pilot but not watched it… housemate1 wasn’t terribly impressed… then again he never stuck with BSG so why do I listen to him?
Television? Who needs a television?
September 29th, 2009 at 12:05 pmFinally caught up with Dollhouse!
Ah, Jamie Bamber. I thought you would appreciate hearing him with his real accent. It was kind of funny in the scenes with him and Tahmoh–like BSG all over again. Except…not.
Regarding the skinny/fat discussion, I’ve said it before, but one of the things I liked about Dollhouse was November/Mellie. She was not skinny even by normal (as opposed to TV) standards, and yet she was depicted as beautiful and sexy. I mean she is, after all, but it’s uncommon for that to be allowed on TV.
