A collection of photos from a birthday party this weekend.
We descended upon the vaulted ceilings and croquet lawns of a large country house. We frolicked, drank tea and ate cake. And when the sun started doing down… well… that’s when things started to get crazy.
Note: you can click each photo to visit my Flickr stream. There are further details there, and some funny annotations.
More to follow… more balloons, and a cute little girl.

I’m sorry, but I have two questions:
1.) Is the balding gent in pic #1 checking the other gentleman for a hernia?
And, 2.) if he is, is he a licensed practitioner or an amateur enthusiast?

Well, he certainly looks like an enthusiast…
That’s all I can possibly say on the matter.

Was this kid trying to be Balloon Boy #2? That is awesome!

I was thinking the same exact thing as Mr. Apron when I first saw the picture number one.
I like how your friend with the peace signs in the third picture isn’t wearing shoes.

I don’t think he knew about the American kid, Carissa. I’m sure he wouldn’t fake it either… he’d go the whole hog…
You know, I was trying to work out what was up with his feet, Jaime. I thought they were really tight-fitting shoes or something. Thank you for finally solving that one for me

you want to be careful with those ballons, he might float away ala balloon boy…..oh wait he was hiding at home
The guy in photo 1 seems to have a bit of a bulge in his trousers and a look of fancy on his face…just saying

I don’t think you’re the only one to see the bulge or the jolly smile, H

Love the B&W one. I don’t know what it is, but B&W photos always seem to be more dramatic. I’m sure there’s some sort of technical mumbo-jumbo for it. Well done – you managed to capture teenagerdom!

Thanks! I like the B&W one too, but other than you… no one seems to like it much. Not sure why. I think it tells the best story, which is what people photography is usually about!
I think B&W is generally more dramatic because it focuses less on the scene and more on the people. You’re not distracted by the colour/landscape/etc. You are instantly drawn to the FACES!
