I don’t sleep very soundly at night.
Well, sometimes I sleep fine, but only after an hour or two of ‘preamble’, where my mind processes everything from my projected finances, to the finer points of behavioral psychology. I think I’m a very light sleeper, so just about anything wakes me up — which isn’t really a problem at home, because I live in the middle of nowhere, but it makes sleeping difficult if I’m not in my own bed.
The night before last (which is when this photo was taken), I was thinking about just how smelly my feet are. Just kidding — I was actually lost in reverie, thinking about one of my first ever online ‘girlfriends’, who was a 15-year-old cheerleader. I was 15 too.
I’ve often lamented the fact that Britain doesn’t seem to have cheerleaders. Well, there are a few, but I’ve never come across any. I guess we need to be more competitive when it comes to school sports. I want to say that we should learn from the Americans, but I think they affect us enough already.
This is one of my old ladybird slippers, incidentally. The photo’s incredibly grainy because it was shot at 6400 ISO and f/1.4. I do rather like it, though.
