Starlight is the basis of all life everywhere. Every single one of us, every single piece of our planet, comes from the stars. We are the result of 10 billion years of fusion and supernovae, ultimately resulting in the formation of our Sun, the Earth, and all of the other planets in our Solar System.
As a photographer, stars are literally the most fundamental piece of the equation. Without them, we would have no light — the power of the Sun created the fossil fuels that we use for electric light, don’t forget — and without light, there can be no photography.
After a week of cloud cover, the sun finally came out. I celebrated it in the only way I know how: rolling around in the grass and getting a very wet ass.

It’s Carl Sagan
(Bit of an idol for most philosophical geeks…)
I wonder if it’s OK that I admit, in public, that I love looking up skirts…
