I think I’ve mentioned it in passing before (on my blog perhaps), but I’m awful (or very good) at eating food that’s been on the floor.
In most cases, I’m happy to just pick it up and shove it in my mouth. If it’s hairy/dirty, I’ll rub it with my fingers, or pick a few hairs off, and then eat it.
I don’t know if it’s my inherent Jewness, or… maybe my parents just never taught me otherwise.
Either way, it seems to have served me well. I last had a cold when I was 8 or so, and I’ve only visited a doctor once, when I was 1 — for some inoculations. A few months ago I visited a hospital for the first time since my birth! (I was picking up a friend who worked there.)
So, yeah, either I’ve just been very lucky — or, on the other hand, eating food off the floor is extremely good for building up a good immune system.
(This is yesterday’s photo — I was busy.)
